Throwback to Wild Wild Wet Sunday!

This is a late post on our Wild Wild Wet Sunday experience! The entire Limmies Family went to Wild Wild Wet @ Downtown East on 02 Sept (Sun), 1 day after Bub’s 4th birthday.

We started the day early, having breakfast at Wang Cafe @ Downtown East before we checked in to Wild Wild Wet. It started to rain when we just sat down at Wang Cafe and soon it was raining cats and dogs, chickens and cows. But the heavy downpour did not dampen our spirit as we sat to enjoy our breakfast and waited patiently for the rain to stop.

We were lucky that the rain stopped after we were done with breakfast and we made our way down to Wild Wild Wet. It was the first visit to Wild Wild Wet for everyone, thus we were all excited and looking forward, especially so for Bub. He couldn’t contain his excitement and was grinning from ear to ear.

We checked in to Wild Wild Wet and being the first time to the Water Theme Park, we were all very excited and busy taking photos. After which, we headed to the Information Centre to rent a Cabana. We did not expect the Cabana to be rented out so fast and it must be our lucky day that we managed to rent the last Cabana available. Phew! We got the last Bubbles Cabana just in front of Professor’s Playground. The Bubbles Cabana cost $80 after NTUC member discount and it comes with Free Wi-Fi, chiller, locker cabinet, 4 towels (to be returned back after use), chilled drinks, snack platter, and a float. We got the gummy bear float which we did not utilise as it kept on deflating.

After changing into our swimwear, settling down in the Cabana and locking our valuables in the locker cabinet, we headed to the Professor’s Playground as it is just in front of our Cabana. Bub was having fun shooting water at everyone. Next, we headed over to the other rides.

The Bub stealing the limelight as usual

We went to the Kidz Zone that is filled with pint sizes versions of the bigger rides and while Bub was having fun on the slides with Papa Lim and Grandma Lim, the rest of us went to try out the other rides. For some warming up, we had a go at The Waterworks, a twisty ride with opened and covered slides which only 1 person can go down at a time. Next, we went for the high speed, adrenaline pumping Royal Flush which was one of the most popular rides at the park. Four of us sat on a round float and the rapid moving water sent the float down a Behemoth Bowl and halfway down, there was a sudden stomach-churning drop that brings the float up onto the TornadoWAVE. We could literally feel our butt lifting off the float during the sudden drop and we were all screaming our heads off from start to end. We played the Royal Flush twice, the second time with Papa Lim joining us and Gugu Lim went to play with Bub at the Kidz Zone.

After the exhilarating rides, we went back to the Kidz Zone again to play with Bub. He was hooked to one of the slides and kept going up and down umpteen times…LOL! Next up was the Ular-Lah for some rafting experience. The raft can sit 6 persons and we shared the ride with a pair of father and daughter duo since there were only 4 of us. It was a fast and bumpy ride as we glided down the slide which was as close to rafting as you can get. The rest of the day was spent bobbling on the waves at Tsunami, relaxing in the Jacuzzi pool and chilling on the floats gliding along the Shiok River and we had KFC for lunch in between.

Everyone hanging out in the Shiok River!

While we were at the Shiok River, Bub lost his goggles. He was upset about it and Papa Lim set out to find it but could not locate the goggles. Instead, he found another pair of goggles and a gold bracelet. He returned the items to the Wild Wild Wet staff and asked them to keep a lookout for the Bub’s missing goggle. The staff kindly told us that they will keep a lookout if anyone returns it and we can check with the information Centre thereafter.

Soon it was time to head home; we showered and packed up to leave the Cabana and to return back the used towels. Before leaving the place, we checked with the Information Centre whether there was any lost and found goggles. Guess what?! Someone did pick up and returned the goggles to the Information Centre! Bub was ecstatic that he got back his goggles and we reminded him to be careful and to take good care of his belonging.

Overall it was a really fun-filled and great place for families and friends to hang out. We had lots of fun and will definitely be back again to try out more rides.
